Get creative with the family at the Astrup Fearnley Museum, which invites you to a family workshop on 15 February. Be inspired by the exhibition “Grammars of Light” and create your own glowing sculpture using glowsticks. The workshop runs from 12:00–16:00 and is open to everyone.
After the workshop, head across the street to Åpent Bakeri for a delicious Fastelavnsbolle - the perfect sweet ending to your day. Åpent Bakeri’s version is made with Danish laminated dough and almond paste, filled with vanilla cream, raspberries and mascarpone.
For couples
Visiting Oslo on a romantic getaway, or simply looking for a cosy day dedicated to the two of you?
On 11 February, a brand-new exhibition opened at the renowned Galleri Brandstrup. Here you can experience “Fanget til frihet” (Captured to Freedom), a celebration of artist Willibald Storn’s 90th birthday.
End your date with a wine course at Sjømagasinet. On Valentine’s Day, the Michelin‑listed restaurant hosts a special tasting focusing on cheese and wine pairings, flavour techniques and the chemistry behind great combinations. Taste your way through five distinct wine styles, each paired with a carefully selected cheese family. The course starts at 18:00 and costs 895 NOK per person.
